Since the reveal has gone live, here are my Yuletide stories:

we have laced the world together The Wren books by Sherwood Smith. Wren/Tess/Connor/Tyron, 9216 words. Teen. Did you say that Wren was coming? Tyron asked sleepily, Connor's arm draped heavy over his hip. We'll probably meet her along the way, Tess told him. And then we'll all be together again, for a while.

why press a seal on running water Spirited Away, Chihiro/Haku, 755 words, non-explicit. While she'd been Sen, living in the Yuya, she'd never had to look for Haku; he'd always just been there, whether she wanted him or no. But now she wanted him, and she didn't know where to look.

That is where she ought to live, with bears, not with men His Dark Materials, Lyra and Iorek, 759 words, non-explicit. She stood darkly golden against the permafrost, taller and more world-weary than she'd been when he'd last seen her. Wrapping her into the rough embrace of his fur, he breathed in her heady wild scent, atavistically satisfied by her returned presence.

Put to Sleep My Mother's Curse Arthurian Mythology, Gaheris/Mordred, 1026 words. Mature. Mordred could bind Gaheris to him, capture his brother in cords of silk and steel and knotted rope, in bonds of loyalty and kinship and love.

In total, I wrote 45,883 words of fic this year, with 11 stories in 10 fandoms.

Carry Stargate SG1, Sam/Daniel, PG, 2095 words. prompt: I can't carry it, but I can carry you and it as well. Daniel-whumping, scary-alien-artifacts-made-them-make-out. Kinda-sorta a Lord of the Rings fusion – I couldn't resist, with that prompt.

now sleeps the crimson petal, now the white a BtvS/Vanity Fair crossover, Angelus/Becky Sharp, Angelus/Darla, 1718 words, explicit. Her savagery, hidden under the thinnest veneer of maidenly propriety, fascinated him utterly.

the heart closes like a nocturnal flower Merlin (BBC), Gwen/Arthur, past Merlin/Arthur. nonexplicit, 500 words. the way the story ends, the way this story always has to end

(bind you with love that is) graceful and green as a stem Lord of the Rings, non-explicit Sam/Frodo – either fairly chaste slash or heavily romantic gen. Non-explicit, 22664 words. Tolkien splits his ending evenly between comedy and tragedy, with Sam getting all of the one and Frodo getting all of the other. Sam has marriage and children and riches, the narrative of celebration, of life ascendant. Frodo has the tragic side: death, loss, all the things that never get better, and at last his martyr's end. But a different end to the story could be managed, if Sam and Frodo were to share both the joy and the sorrow of their victory and their adventure.

your voice is pomegranate wine Stargate SG1, Daniel/Teal'c, non-explicit, 1125 words. Daniel's voice winds around them like an opiate, sweet and lulling and filled with secret promise, and Teal'c draws in a long breath to catch the strange words in his body. The poetry of his own youth beats through him like a drum, and he desires. Set in early Season 1.

Yet shee will bee false, ere I come, to two, or three Dollhouse, Echo/Boyd, mature, dubcon, 863 words. A single girl, unsmiling and placid and serene, and he misses the sweet intoxication of her eyes and the deep scent of her body, and the feeling he’d had that her trust and faith meant something real.

Five Ways That Forced Intimacy Clichés Made Fry and Leela Do It (And One Way That Didn’t) Futurama, Fry/Leela, 5162 words, explicit. Sex Pollen, Amnesia, Aliens Made Them Do It, Marriage Law, Mind Powers are for Porn, and an Apocalypse. porn, romance, schmoop, and humor.
