I've been adding my vids to my ao3 page, and in the process revisited my "unposted" folder ... these three vids have been lurking there since I swear to you 2013, because I completed them and then was overcome with personal shame for several years, sigh, I keep thinking I've moved beyond this and then I find things like this. They're lovely, they're finished, I'm sharing them, what was I tripping on?

title: and now all is dark and empty
video: The Lord of the Rings
audio: "The Hill" by Markéta Irglová
length: 3:04
summary: But I have been too deeply hurt, Sam. I tried to save the Shire, and it has been saved, but not for me. It must often be so, Sam, when things are in danger: someone has to give them up, lose them, so that others may keep them

(This one i was keeping bc i wasn't happy with the way I'd tried to show PTSD by cutting back and forth between the past & present; if I was remastering, I might try to use some sort of visual effect to distinguish the timeline, fantasy from reality, ect ... but on reflection I think the intrusiveness of the cuts actually does work to artistic effect overall.)

title: the death of kings
video: Slings & Arrows
audio: "Cybertronic Purgatory" by Janelle Monáe
length: 1:37
summary: Geoffrey supports his King(man)
password: elbereth

(This one I suspect I sat on because when I made it, the feelings behind it were very raw. I watched Slings & Arrows with my grandmother, and made this the year I was doing homecare for her; the combination of aging, mortality, theater, and emotional connection in Geoffrey's relationship with his old mentor hit me hard. I was probably curled up on the sofa opposite to her, working on this ...)

title: Go No More A-Roving
video: Angel the Series
audio: "So We'll Go No More A-Roving" by Joan Baez
length: 1:41
summary: Summer Glau dances in "Waiting in the Wings"
password: elbereth

(I played with rhythm a lot in this vid, I think I felt I overworked it a little bit; but I mostly caught my intention, and in the first place the exercise was largely an excuse to look at Summer Glau dancing a lot; so, sharing!)

(Forgive the lack of download links; I need to roust out my sendspace account and get that all up-to-date. Baby steps!)

These are remarkable. I think the PTSD in the LotR one comes through strikingly and perfectly, and the pacing of the S&A is very moving.
