I've been working on this iconset for a while - Taran and Eilonwy, separate and together. Images drawn from everything and anything: classical art, Victorian fairy tale illustrations, stock photos, random google image searches.

There are 20 all together:

Oh, these are GORGEOUS. Exactly how I imagine Eilonwy to look--I haven't read the Chronicle of Prydain in forever but I *loved* her and her bauble. I wanted one just like it.

Oh, so beautiful. And you used the cover of Zel, too! Definitely using a couple of these, not sure what yet.

I never thought about that, but it really is true. Zel herself isn't much like Eilonwy, I think (they're both lovely characters in entirely different ways!), but the picture is rather like her.

Thank you! I love Achren. :)

Oh, and you really seem like a fascinating person, between the Much Ado About Nothing quote on your profile page and the Lloyd Alexander - may I friend you?

Oh, me too. If I could choose just one role to play in all my life, it might just be Beatrice.

I've never read these books, but I feel like I probably should. If the icons are any indication. :D

These are lovely! Can you tell me (if you remember) where the 1st and 2nd of the first row, and the last of the 2nd row are from?

omg you win! I loved the chronicles of prydain, but they seem like such a forgotten series; it's sort of tragic. I took a few, so pretty.

--This is somewhat weird, as I've been planning a general Chronicles of Prydain icon set. But these are lovely! I'm not taking any yet, but I may later.

(Also, questions: do you have the image you used for the last one, by any chance?)

Oh lordy, so pretty. The combo of great artwork and Lloyd Alexander make me so happy. I'm even more happy that you've used artwork by Kinuko Y. Craft (ex. #17) because I adore the covers she's done for Patricia A. McKillip's books. More than any other character, Eilonwy made me want to be a redhead. And I'm sure I'm not the only little girl who carried a ball, pretending it was a bauble after reading the books.

LOVE. I miss the Prydain Chronicles so much. I'll have to re-read them. Very nice icons.

These are amazing! I love the Prydain chronicles. I found your lj whilst browsing the book_icons group, can I add you as a friend? (Is that a weird thing to ask? I just really liked your blog! Bookish people are the best people, after all.)

OMG these are fantastic. (I'm not stalking your journal. Really. It's just so rare to find another Prydain fan - and a fellow Eilonwy-lover to boot - I had to click the tag and further feed my obsession. I'm going to friend you to keep tabs on anything else you post on the topic - you need not feel obligated to return the favor, as I realize we have little in common beyond this and a love of classical children's lit.)

Snagging #3 and #20, and may come back for more. They are so lovely it even assuages my disappointment that none of my own art made the cut. :P I hope it's not because you couldn't find it. Justin Kunz gets all the love from google.

Scads - some of it better than others. See my icon for a snippet, but I think you'd be most appreciative of this one:
