One of my daily-read blogs has that buggered Eva Mendes PETA ad on their sidebar, and I can't stop looking at it. Oh, PETA, how many issues can one organization have? Here's a link to the ad - does she look strangely pale to any of you? She's Latina, and googling around I think she's usually pretty golden-brown, but here she looks paler that even my Swedish-Northern-Michigan-midwinter glory.

Naked, objectified and whitewashed? Bad show, PETA.

Ugh. I get so annoyed with PETA because I agree with nearly all of their goals, but their means of working toward them--not so much in agreement.

Exactly. I mean, I have nothing at all against animal rights. And as many people have pointed out, the semiotics of animal cruelty and misogyny have a lot in common. But I'm not okay with agitation for animal freedoms at the expense of women's rights, or race issues. Cows DO NOT equal Jews, people. Ack.
