How did I not know that "The Mask of Zorro" was written by Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio, aka the writers of PotC? It explains so much. Like my twelve-year-old self's passionate adoration of the former.Watched it again last night. Realized that I still love it with embarrassing intensity. Shiny! And Antonio Banderas! And swordfights--that I so totally i.d.'ed as the work of Bob Anderson.

[livejournal.com profile] shala4 has links to the first part of the animated Narnia on YouTube. I had never seen this before. I am now unbelievably terrified. For those of you wishing to torment yourselves...

The Boy and I signed up for Netflix yesterday, something we've been meaning to do for a while. There's no movie rentals within walking distance of us here, so we spent last term watching old favorites over and over. Which is fine, but I could use some variety. Or some Supernatural--Season 1 is the top of my queue, baby. I want my show to come baaaack! Five more days till "Hunted".

LOL, I grew up with that Narnia! It's Mr. Tumnus has put me off all other versions, even James McAvoy.
But my sister still won't watch any remakes after that one now, she adores it. As do the kids I babysit who first saw the fancypants live action version. Weird.

I like how over-dramatic it is, especially Edmund. The actor and cartoonist really went overboard making him Eeeevil.
I also remember Peter being a bit of a douche in that version (or maybe it's just the character, he annoyed me in the 2005 one too) with the voice dude getting rather OTT and sinister about reprimanding his siblings. 'Why you little...'
