Went to the Bristol Ren Faire in WI yesterday with A and friends! Had a fun time, tho next time I think we go later and stay later, skip the heat, and eat first lol. It felt good to put my costume pieces back together. Talked to A about going back more regularly -- in which case, I think I'd need to start costuming again! I feel like updating/optimizing garb is at least half the appeal of the whole enterprise, lol.

Yeah, I'm a big costume geek from childhood, and my primary method is scavenging and then customizing! It would be interesting to learn to sew more traditionally, but mostly what I know how to do is frankenstein together bits and bobs, lol!

I love the Ren Faire but I haven't been to one in a while because the one around here is inaccessible if you don't have a car, which I don't.

Yeah, honestly, going to Faire with A in the car is part of my project to reconcile myself to living in car-culture world for awhile -- it has so many downsides, and I so much prefer living on my feet day-to-day, but ... at least there's Faire?
