My father was vaccinated for COVID-19 yesterday. I won't say I didn't cry. Spread is low enough in Cook County that I'm daring to dart back into the Aldi for brief in-person shops, a lovely change from the tedium (and expense!) of online grocery.

I'm not heading home yet, and we're not sending B. back to school this spring, but it feels, right now, like as the winter breaks, so will the need for lockdown.

I had my first shot yesterday! I'm so glad that your father has been vaccinated and I hope he sails through with no side effects.

Congratulations to your father. It is such a relief to hear of people getting their vaccines.
