Apparently JKR wants Terry Gilliam to direct the next HP movie? Eh, I dunno. It would be awesome, but I'd actually sort of rather Gilliam go off and do his own brilliant thing without being weighed down by horrid books like HBP. Better a new Baron Munchausen than a better-than-average HP movie. But kudos to JK for having good taste for once.

(Seriously, I've been wanting Terry Gilliam and Tim Burton to direct these movies so badly. Ohhh, how cool it would be.)

I totally know what you mean. But in the end I like the *stories* of Edward Scissorhands and Baron Munchausen much better than HP. Both Burton and Gilliam have this brilliant bubbling originality; there's nothing like their movies in all the world. And, drat it, the HP movies have never really stodd on their own. They're just visualizations of the books, and lot of the time I dunno that they would make any sense to someone who hadn't read the books. And I want more of the wonderful Gilliam/Burton stuff! There's no shortage on HP, and there is on Gilliam, who has not made nearly enough movies to suit me.
