I sympathize - my Dad does these things, too, where you don't know wheather you're dying of embarrassment squick on his behalf (because I know he does not just ring me with that kind of random crap but other people too), salut him on being a fellow-nerd or surrendering to the fact that this is your life and feel full of gooey love (because he choose to ring me instead of anybody else).
