Like, I was all grumpy about the new movies. Excited but grumpy, in a get off my lawn George Lucas/House of Mouse kind of way. But this is the most genuinely Christmas-morning feeling I've had about a movie since the first previews for Fellowship of the Ring. Kasdan, Kasdan is magic, and he understands how to make lovable things, and if they would make us a lovable thing about what happens next to Han and Luke and Leia, oh my god how amazing would that be?!

If Kasdan gets onboard, I will be so much more hopeful, and I'm relatively optimistic as it is. Because yes, he gets it, I think, and having the story continued by someone who gets what ... it should be, and what the characters are, that would be so cool. But I don't think it's been 100% confirmed yet, so I'm just crossing my fingers that it IS true.

(Seriously though, if Disney hires him, I will have so much more faith that they know what they're doing and have some understanding of what made the OT so widely loved, and are not just ALL THE STAR WARS SATURATE THAT MARKET.)
