paper bullets of the brain

I keep not bothering to write anything about House.
Cuddy has her baby? if so, yay - although did not care for the treatment of the homeless woman who had been caring for a sick infant out of nothing but love and then was brushed aside so that the rich, upperclass lady could have the child she wanted.
This episode was so weird - kind of schizoid, badly paced, sometimes nonsensical. Since when does Wilson call House "Greg"? Since when does House not open Wilson's presents? Made. No. Sense. Whut.
On the other hand, Wilson baiting the New Ducklings was excellent. And House in the white coat! And that ridiculous attempt to be "nice". Oh show, I knew there was a reason why I watched you.
My main frustration with House is that the writers consistently fail to push their characters' buttons. Or at least they have been for the last while. I haaaate the House.Cuddy plotline, mainly because there's absolutely no reason for the two of them to start romancing now, after all the years they've known each other. The relationship lacks a catalyst, so it feels pastede on yay.
But okay, how utterly awesome would the hostage episode have been if, instead of being trapped with Thirteen, House was with someone he gave a damn about? I don't just mean Wilson - although if you think I haven't been imagining that version out, with House being forced to give Wilson the injections, and Wilson falling to the ground in a faint with his heart dangerously near to stopping, and House not knowing what to do, how to help him, how to make the choice between the diagnosis and his friend's life, and all the while Wilson is looking worse and worse, um, then I don't think we've ever met - but even Cuddy or Chase or Cameron. He doesn't care about Thirteen, so the episode lacks punch. It's frustrating, because they're so gaddamn close, they just need to reach out an grab the melodrama by the horns.
