Largely thanks to "Dream a Little Dream of Me," I'm back in love with Supernatural today. I've been reading back through favorite bits of fic that I bookmarked ages ago, and squeeing, and watching Season One clips on YouTube, and loving my show to little bits.
My only frustration with the show is that this ep should have taken place in Sam's head. Dean's been so thoroughly psychoanalyzed previously that it missed any real chance at revelation. And maybe I'm just saying this as a dyed-in-the-wool Samgirl, but I want to get into his head. I want Sam's symbols to come back into play. I want to get back to the old narrative of the hunter becoming supernatural, becoming psychic, becoming the sort of thing that they hunt. I want some significant use of Jessica.
I'm really hoping that "Mystery Spot" will do it for me; we get to be Sam-side for most of the thing. I want it to be Thursday! Wail!
