Actually, I almost love the adult filtering system for its stupid, bullheaded uselessness. Because what it actually accomplishes is forcing users to click on every adult link to find the one thing they want. The adult content cut tags completely obscure all the warnings that we so carefully apply to our own stuff. There's no way of knowing if the fic behind that tag is R-rated schmoop about curtains and apple pie or a kinkfic incest rape novella, now with extra tentacles. One of those things squicks you? You do not want? SRY! You must click all links now, because porn users are filthy mindless beast who will read anything so long as it contains the necessary descriptors of genitalia.

(I'm trying to get my grad school applications out by next week, and also my yuletide fic. For this reason the radio silence.)

You're probably still going to see the flagged posts' subject lines, right? One could theoretically put all the warnings and definitions there.

Hmm. I saw a few before I figured out what was going on, and couldn't tell what they were and scrolled right on by. For one thing, half of us use these really oblique subject headers. Yeah, I guess we could change what we're doing, but that's still us having to move in order to fix the thing that wasn't broken until they interfered with it. Ffbpt.
