I'm really loving the mythic language going on here. Last week, after Dean's bit with his daddy's grave and the sacrificial lamb blood, we were all talking about Gethsemane. But it was Sammy who died, who made the final heroic choice and paid the final price. And next week, we know we're going to get a Resurrection--Sam's not going to stay dead, obviously, and also John back again. Harrowing of Hell? Descent into Hades? Belly of the Beast? Oh fuck yeah. Sam and Dean as two perfectly divided parts of the Hero, one and then the other and then the first one again. Orpheus in the goddamned Underworld, people. Odysseus Down Under. Fuck me, Crooked God.

OH MY GOD NEXT WEEK I CANNOT LIVE TILL THEN.
