now I am married, go ragged all the time
Feb. 5th, 2007 05:04 pmI wanted to belatedly link to this piece by Heather Corrina (who is so deeply fabulous that it you all aren't reading her, you truly have not lived), because as usual she says everything that I want to, only better. "The Girls That Went Away," by Anne Fessler, and the Magdalene laundries, and the utterly imperative need for reproductive choice.
I want Fessler's book, but it doesn't look like the college library has it. Not surprised. Maybe I'll go in to Inter-library Loan for this one. I really want it.
(I didn't know that Joni Mitchell wrote a song about the Magdalene Laundries. I really want that, too. I am apparently just a big big bundle of desires. Such a bad Taoist it's not even funny.)
