I hate that when women jettison excess clothing as the heat turns up it's seen as sexualizing them. Men go shirtless all the time, but god forbid you wear a spaghetti-strap tank or something lower than a turtleneck. God forbid you wear shorts that display your legs or shirts that don't go down past them. it has nothing to do with sex, people. We just wanna cool down.

Yes, but there's a big difference between wanting to cool down and dressing so skankily that Jenna Jameson would blush.

Okay, yeah, but I think that I'd put that line in a very different place than American culture does. When I can see your vagina, that's too much. but hey, men can go shirtless. Tube tops, crop tops, spaghetti straps, shorts that don't expose your panties--all these things should be permissable and removed from the sexual context that seems to be our default.
