most wonderful time of the year

I feel like I should start listening to Christmas music. Mind, I usually do this time of the year. It's so blasted dark.

Just did yuletide sign-up. Eep. This is the first time I've managed to get my ass together enough to write, but I've been gleefully reading for years. I'm pretty sure I can handle the fandoms I offered for--it helps that I'm out of school in just over two weeks. All that time for writing.

I heart Yuletide because of the kidlit. Nothing in all the world makes me happier than reading fic of my books, the ones that I love, the ones that I've been hanging on to ever since I can remember. I'm looking forward to hanging out with old trueloves.

(Next year, I need to nominate 'Freckles" and "Girl of the Limberlost". We need some Gene Stratton Porter.)

Oh god, Yuletide's great. Even if you're not participating, chances are high that you'll fall in love with one of the hundreds of rare fandom fics the challenge produces every ear. ou find stuff you didn't even know you wanted. One of my favorites last year was a fic of the movie "Saved!". Who thinks they want "Saved!" fic? But it was mind-blowingly womderful.
