Jude Doyle on Trans Masc Misogyny and the Red Six of Spades: Being an attempt to grapple with trans community dynamics and trans guys who yell at women. A very long attempt. You were warned.

Long and meaty read. Pull quote: "Again, don’t get it twisted: Trans men are men, and transmasculine people, more generally, are not women. But trans men can’t look at women and say I am the opposite of you. We also don’t get to say that to cis men, my own insecurities notwithstanding. We are like cis women. We are like trans women. We are like cis men. We are a place where the interests of at least three different populations, all of whom are historically in conflict with each other, overlap. No wonder it gets confusing."

FYI the Doyle article is for Medium members only. It sounds fascinating, though!

I wish I could read the Doyle post. It might be worth paying $5 for one month's membership, but frankly I think it sounds like something that *shouldn't* be behind a paywall, because it's about the health of an online community that has a lot of very poor and/or young people in it.

I was able to read the Jude Doyle article because of a 'some articles will be free' Medium sign up policy but I agree the paywall's unfortunate. Do you have Doyle's tumblr?

Here's a WeTransfer link I found to a pdf if that's helpful to anyone: https://we.tl/t-MyTvGJR5Vi

I liked what Doyle said about paying attention to oppositional sexism (before and related to the quote you pulled); I think sometimes about what trans feminist theory has said about basing your gender identity not on a metaphysical ideal but embodiment, how you feel and what you enjoy being/doing, for lack of a more sophisticated explanation.
