You know what? It is NOT OKAY to play with slash and be against gay marriage. I mean, I'm not going to disallow it, because that would fuck the First Amendment to all hell, and I happen to be a fan of it. But the First Amendment makes a lot of things technically legal that are not morally or ethically okay.

So you don't think gays should marry. Does that include Remus and Sirius? Harry and Draco? Whatever your OTP happens to be? Then why the fuck are you wasting time writing about their love for each other? It makes ABSOLUTEY NO SENSE AT ALL.

Of course, being a slashed doesn't mean that you have to dedicate your life to the cause, far from it. But it does mean that you have to care something for the happiness of all those whose lifestyle is affording you so many hours of fun. Yes, I know that slash isn't really about gay men. But yet it is.

As far as the current election goes, there are other issues at stake besides gay rights. And some of them are pretty important. But I think that the equality of an entire denomination is pretty important too. and yes, writing slash means that, in order to be a decent human being, you have to care. I'm not going to go after you with a gun and handcuffs if you don't, but don't try to tell me that you aren't a hypocritical bigoted scumbag. Because you are.

Wait, you mean you actually know about someone who writes/reads/fans slash AND is against gay rights? It sounds so... ridiculous. You´re right-being slasher means you have thought about it, and you´re not prejudiced against homosexuality-like religious people and such, and you know or at least you say you know it´s all about love. So how can such person be against gay marriage? That´s just sick.
