Date: 2014-05-12 05:17 pm (UTC)There's a change in management between the 2nd and 3rd seasons, & a big shift not so much in tone but in genre signification goes along with it. S3-4 is magical-realist absurdist comedy, Godot meets Monty Python, and S1-2 is still magical realism but in a more old-fashioned way? lots of Frank Capra notes. Both of the registers are wonderful, but imo Fraser is most lovely in the beginning.
