You know, The Avengers is great and everything, but I think what I really want is for Joss to write a tv show about them all and have it become a breakaway ten-season-running hit. Think about it: musical episode, bodyswap, that time in Season Three when everyone gets dosed with Evil Gas, a whole season of Steve/Tony hatelove UST, the inevitable drama when everyone on the team sleeps with/breaks up with everyone else, periodic Asgardian mayhem, Natasha delivering incisive feminist commentary on the whole thing under her breath. Bucky as the surprise cast addition halfway through the second season, Peter Parker as the sixth-season gamechanger. A kicky opening credits sequence.

You forgot the episode a la Hush where everyone is unable to talk and so must use hand gestures, signs or their superpowers to communicate.

And of course, there must also be cameos by actors from other parts of Whedonverse. :-)

I haven't seen Avengers yet (tomorrow!), but I must reiterate: JAN. If we're going for a ten-season breakaway hit, which I suspect, after seeing the movie, I will be all in favor of, I want ALL the kickass women currently in movieverse (Pepper, Jane, Darcy, Betty, Natasha) AND at least one more. Thus, Jan.

Ooh, and if Peter joins the cast we could get Aunt May and MJ and maybe Gwen and if we pull from USM there's Kitty, too.

I share your Jan!yay, but am not sure she fits into a jossverse!style Avengers - she's from that much more traditionally sweet era, and that's not exactly Joss' bag. On the other hand, considering how publicly and volubly nuts he is about Kitty ...

But Betty, Betty homg Joss could do gorgeous things with Betty. (can we kick Liv Tyler out & recast as Amy Acker? Because that would be infinitely yay.)
