OMG, I have to read that McKellen link, but can I just say thank Aslan that he signed to the movie.
I saw that XKCD. Not only is that scene one of my favorites, but that supernova--or more accurately, reading the National Geographic article about it when I was about five--was no joke a huge influence on me through high school.
I was never worried about him - I remember him banging on about wanting to do The Hobbit back in, like, 2003/04! I heart how much he hearts Gandalf the Grey.
If nothing else, this movie will give me more Gandalf + hobbits. Which, of course, equals awesome.
well no wonder sir ian was snarky; those have to be some of the most idiotic stupid interview questions i've seen in a long time. what a style clash between interviewer and interviewee. now, if that idiot had been interviewing downey jr. or someone, he would have gotten what he wanted, but ian was not in a mood to joke OR be baited, apparently.
