stuff wot I've been watching
Oct. 18th, 2010 07:05 pmGUYS I THINK I'M IN LOVE WITH ELENA. She's gorgeous and adorable and reminded me alternately of The Ordinary Princess and The Moorchild, and I now have this mad urge to write fic about how her fairy came back and they had AWESOME ADVENTURES together and failed to conform to their gender(s).
Also, kissy noises for Arthur, who has such a dear good heart when the world around him actually lets him do things and/or doesn't lie to him about really fundamental ish. And of course hearts for Gwen. I still kind of mourn Gwen/Morgana, but Gwen/Arthur is such a bundle of excellence and love that I can't get too sad about it.
I still hate Merlin, and would like him to die in a fire. KILL MORE WOMEN, WHY DONCHA?
Why can't this be the Elena show instead? I'd like to watch that show, please.
Did this episode have pacing issues? It felt like it had pacing issues.
Kenzi is quickly becoming my favorite thing since sliced bread. I can't decide if I liked the pigtails or the jammy red wig best - either way, homegirl was looking fine. And I'm v. glad that she didn't entirely abandon her guns re: Team Dyson.
On which I am not. He's just so ... heteronormative? Like, yeah, the butch guy's a werewolf. Sorry, not turning my crank. I think I set against him when he was bad at his detective job back in, what, 1.03? and I'm still not over it. Neither queer enough nor competent enough.
Dead bodies freak me out, so a lot of this ep was me getting squirmy and trying to turn my brain off. Plus on the genderqueer aspects of the bodyswitching, though!
It charms me how much this show is like early season of AtS. The whole "major player" gig? Yeah. But it's so cute and queer and girly and Canadian and sexy that I don't care if it's slightly less than original.
