Sep. 19th, 2010 04:12 pmSo we finished Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood last night.
And I really wish I could have an ending halfway between this one and the Anime Prime. Prime was too heavy on the angst; this was a little too sunshine and light for me.
The thing that I've always loved about Edward Elric is just how weird he is, how he's just somehow not quite right - and how that so often leaves him as the only right person around. This is the kid who tried to resurrect his dead mama, the kid who thought to sacrifice his body to put his brother in a suit of armor - and not that I'm not glad he did, but seriously, who thinks like that?! And I have a really hard time seeing him living out in the country with a whole body and no alchemic power. I have an easier time imagining him coming out of that scenario twisted.
But Roy's happy ending was wonderful and lovely and perfect. The politics make so much more sense in Brotherhood, and that's very satisfying. And Roy is just so dear. <3
