year meme & notice of radio silence
Dec. 19th, 2007 10:29 pm...not necessarily in that order.
I'm going to Mexico tomorrow, and I won't be back till the 29th. No cell phone connection, probably no internet. Mother thought there might be an internet cafe, but I don't know what kind of access I'll have to it. So.
To my yuletide writer: thank you so much. I'll read your story as soon as I can, but I already know that I love you forever for writing it. Sorry for the delay in feedback.
To the rest of you, Merry Christmas, Buon Natale, God Jule, Festive Saturnalia. Happy Channukah. General quantities of joy and good cheer, mkay?
...And the meme, gacked from
theprimrosepath: post the first sentence semi-complete thought of the first post of each month for the last year.
January. Our first work in Victorian Lit was to read Christina Rossetti's "Goblin Market.' I read it for the first time when I was about fifteen, and my god I was so obsessed. Fairies and goblins and sibcest yay.
February. Sammy in that outfit? Hellooo, dirty thoughts. Oh man. In fact I think Sam spent this entire episode mainlining the pretty. Yum.
March. Hey people in the computer. Sorry for the unexpected hiatus--I bumped into exams and then grad school interviews and then an undergrad conference, and anyway I was on spring break and I didn't take my computer, so.
April. April's come in with wind and rain, huge great gusts of it howling around corners and through windows. I love April here--it's what May is like up home, the first month of tentative spring, when it's all still cool and fragile and uncertain and new.
May. JESUS FUCK, WORLD. NO, REALLY. OH MY EVER LOVING GOD. This was fic. On film. I haven't been this pandered-to since I wandered away from the hobbits. Oh my god.
June. So I'm back home and settled in. It's always so strange coming back here--it's like sliding into the skin of the girl I was at sixteen.
July. I can has a new laptop!!!
August. I just want to stick my head into the current Strikethrough mess and express my desperate frustration at lj's definitions of "child" and "pornography," as seen here.
September. First! I have an apartment! Off-campus and gorgeous, although apparently the pilot light went out on the stove last night. Oh well, no sweet corn for me.
October. It's been a while since I posted, neh? Many things of import have taken place, not least among which is my temporary acquisition of a cat.
November. Completely tangential question: what does the Latin on the Colt mean?
December. ...the Narnia preview just made me cry like a baby. Oh, god, I love those books way too much.
