Mar. 26th, 2007 12:47 pmFor the record, since I haven't written anything about it, I loved "Heart" in the hurty way that I love things that are not easy to watch. Pretty, but ouch!
The Boy got me the second Anne movie for our anniversary, which I have summarily geeked out about and capped like crazy. There will be icons forthcoming. Oh Anne, how do I love thee?
It's summer here, sunny and almost 80 degrees out, with the proper Illinois thunderstorms every night. I love it like crazy, though it's maybe just a bit TOO warm~!
The Anne movie uses the melody of "Barbara Allen," one of my favorites of the Scotch ballads. It always feels like going home, back to childhood. “In Scarlet Town where I was born there was a fair maid dwelling,” tinkles the piano in the movie, and I’m back in my own blue-and-gold bedroom sitting by the bookshelves with my little blue Hans Andersen, or in my grandmother’s smoky living room pawing through costume jewelry and old scripts to the sound of waves that washes under the door.
