for the rain it raineth every day

This has been a very strange summer, in that it has been neither fannish nor academic. I mean, I've read m some De Beauvoir and fallen a bit more in love with Supernatural and went to a really groovy filmfest that I really should post about at length, but still.

Work has been a lightless grind, my family's all caught up in my great-grandmother's health troubles--she's having her toes amputated tomorrow because of her bad circulation--and thing with the Boy have been. Odd. Not bad anymore, but. We need to get out of here and go back to school.

He's coming with me. We've been long-distance for two years, and now he's coming back to Illinois with me. I'm terribly happy about that, though things haven't been so smooth.

I've been making icons, which I have to group and code for posting, and I have a few bits of fic: more of the Caspian/Lucy AU, and some Anne of Green Gables femmeslash. But it's really very troublesome to nt have one's laptop hooked up to the internet, because no real content is going to make it to this lj until I'm back in my dorm.

Also. I have the new Decemberists album, The Crane Wife. It's not released until October, but my best of boys found it on=line and so I have it. Will of course buy it proper in two months, but heavens it it is lovely.

It stormed all day today, and is supposed to do so all day tomorrow. I hope it does.
