Brought to you by late-night Star Wars re-watching: James Earl Jones isn't listed in the credits of The Empire Strikes Back. David Prowse is credited as "Darth Vader," not as Darth Vader's body or whatever.

JEJ is listed in the credits for Return of the Jedi, which is good, but - holy hell, it's only pretty much the greatest VA performance in the history of ever, and they don't even put him in the rutting credits? Not on, Lucas, not on.

Lucas is an ass, definitely, but I want to think better of him, since he gave us SW in the first place. I did a little more digging and found this quotation from JEJ himself:

"When Linda Blair did the girl in The Exorcist, they hired Mercedes McCambridge to do the voice of the devil coming out of her. And there was controversy as to whether Mercedes should get credit. I was one who thought no, she was just special effects. So when it came to Darth Vader, I said, no I'm just special effects. But it became so identified that by the third one, I thought, OK I've been denying it, I've been saying it sounds like the uncola nut guy Holder. Geoffrey Holder! ... But for the third one, I said OK, I'll let them put my name on it."
