life in its jewel boxes

Today, amazingly enough, is my four-year lj-versary. And I had an awful, awful day yesterday, for reasons that I'd rather not even think about, and I've been thinking about just how damn much I love fandom. My life since fandom entered it has been so much brighter, more dynamic, more joyful. I'm being soppy, but I really do love it here.
history meme:
on this day one year ago, I geeked out about my new laptop and photographed the woodcuts from the Earthsea novels.
two years ago, I didn't post on the fifth, but made noises of squee and analysis about Pirates of the Caribbean on the sixth.
three years ago, I didn't post until the seventh, when I wrote incoherently about the London bombings and thier relationship to American narratives of terrorism.
four years ago, I posted three times - it was still awfully new and shiny back then. The first was a nervous little intro post, the second was a Myers-Briggs meme (apparently I'm a Sober Emotional Destructive Follower), and posted McGonagall/Trelawney HP femslash.
