Aren't audiobooks wonderful? You should listen to the one for A Wrinkle in Time.
I wish I could remember my first fictional loves. Caspian certainly changes a lot between Prince Caspian and Dawn Treader. It could be that, when Drinian repeats the tournament story on the ship, it's showing that sometimes he has to trick Caspian into believing that he's what they say he is.
The trailers with Dark-haired!Caspian still annoy me a bit, just like I do a double-take whenever I first see Blond!Jadis in the movie (and the giant shoulder pads but aside from that, she's fabulous).
