Crying embarassingly hard.

Sammy in that outfit? Hellooo, dirty thoughts. Oh man. In fact I think Sam spent this entire episode mainlining the pretty. Yum.

Hee hee hee Dean with the bed. Poor stir-crazy woobie. But the Metallicar shines on. Take that, reality!

"Flayed by a hooker from God"? Jesus Dean I love you.

The angel is maybe the creepiest monster ever, because this one's got baggage. The crusades, religious intolerance. And you're not sure how you feel. I wanted it to be real so badly, wanted then to have some help, some hope. The utter pain of belief--if there's a God, why do good people suffer? Why did Mary Winchester die? and you know they're thinking about it, you know Dean's thinking about it.

Okay, shit. Yes he is. Her last words to him were that angels were watching over them? Wibble. Crying now. Oh, show.

Jesus, Sammy, you can't kill people preemptively! Gordon was going to kill *you* preemptively! And all that stuff about the supernatural not necessarily being evil, about the power of will and goodness and redemption, oh my God baby.

Whatever this thing is, it's really found Sam's knotted-up places. His reasons for hunting are all messed up right now. Because the whole John Constantine thing, building up goodness cred to allay his fears of evil, that's selfish and weird and messed-up, in a totally different way from the messed-up of vengeance and Jess that drove him at first. Sammy's torn right now between the life he knows, what his Daddy taught him--he needs to save people and kill things and that's good, that made him a good person. And the conventional church morality that killing things is wrong. The priest says, "thou shalt not kill," and you can just see it stabbing him, because he's killed. and then the tmpting morality of the angel, kill this bad thing and you will be redeemed. And right now he wants so badly to be redeemed, to be safe.

Oh, shoot, they actually made that part explicit, at the end. I am crying so hard it's not even funny.

And they made the Dean-killing-for-Sam thing explicit, too. When Sam is supposed to kill the guy, and Dean just steps in without hesitating. They're just so sweet and broken.

Dean, don't all the authorities! Get the hell out of there right now I am so not kidding.

Jesus, this one hurts. They love each other so much.

Also, this whole thing hurt way more if you'd looked at the spoilers for next week's ep. The "next time on" tag, too. Because they're talking about redemption and the will of God like they've actually got a chance, and oh my god that end tag cut like a knife.
