I just caught a link to the video of Pink's new single "Stupid Girl" and damn! I am so impressed it's not even funny. Sexualization, tannorexia, bulimia, plastic surgery, the loss of the advances made by the feminist movement, the way that little girls watch it all. I'm reeling. This is being released mainstream? Hell yeah.

Hope it's a hit.

And, you know, while I love it, the Pink video would be more impressive if she wasn't doing what she's lampooning - you know? Even though she's doing it in a mocking way, she's still scantily clad, writhing around in soap ... but I suppose I'm just ignoring the good in pursuit of the perfect. I still cheer for this above any other video out there. :)

I know what you mean about the video, but things have been so bad lately for women's rights that any little thing has almost become a triumph, you know? Just the fact that someone's talking about it...

It's almost enough to keep me from losing hope.
