What's your favorite aspect of the Prydain Chronicles?

Eilonwy, and Eilonwy, and Eilonwy. And also Taran. And Taran/Eilonwy.

I can name a favorite moment, actually - it's typed up somewhere on this journal, prolly under my prydain tag - that one at the end of The Castle of Llyr when Eilonwy's been dreaming about climbing apple trees. I used to read that scene over and over again as a kid; it still pretty much constitutes my concept of ideal romance.

I really have to pick them up for a reread one of this days. Just, these books were one of my great childhood loves and I'm a little afraid they won't hold up to that.

God, right now? One that I've done many times before, but not for a while now. My family used to spend 3-2 weeks every summer living on our sailboat in the middle of Lake Michigan, and I've never since experienced anything so deliciously restful. No clocks, no pressures, just sun and wind and water and various novels and boat repairs. Perfection.
