OK, good--you were bothered by the the storm trooper slaughter as well, what with Finn being turned having implications the writers didn't seem to notice.

I haven't followed the EU, but I agree on all your review, though I could see there being a republic, and a resistance going on in places that were still Empire held, but they don't try to explain that in the film like they should.
