I read it aloud to my boyfriends this summer--he'd not read them as a child and I told him that the only way to experience Narnia as a grown-up is to have it read to you--and I was struck by the children's return to Cair Paravel as I've been struck by very few things. The apple orchard and the chess piece and the sixteen steps...god. Something about that sequence is the most. evocative. things. ever.
Also? sorry, but Caspain/Lucy. Still plenty pervy, cause they're bitty, but time passes differently in Narnia and she grew up once and yeah. See Loti fanwank her OTP.
