The absolutely brilliant AJ Hall's got a really lovely essay examining Mark and Jane Studdock from C.S. Lewis' "The Hideous Strength" up on her eljay, touching on religion in writing, Lewis' misogyny, and the fact that he was a far better writer than he was able to let himself be.
