I got here via your iconage (its scary how like James Spader Mr Shanks looks in icon 20) but I also think your Stargate Meta very interesting. I am British and fairly anti-armed forces (everyone is a loser in war and the amount of damage done even to the ones who fight it is scary) so I too would have a problem with that in Stargate were it not for Daddy George and Uncle Jacob and the warm little bubble they have created at the SGC. I also have problems with post Season 7, and can explain what happened post Season Three away with the fact that Jonathan Glassner the king of fluff (who I became familiar with in CSI:Miami) left the building. If you notice (well you won't have seen The Ark of Truth yet) but he was back on board for that and it was fluffy as fluffness can be.

The faux-mythology of Stargage makes me laugh - they oft times shoot themselves in the foot but it gives me a lot to waffle about on redial_the_gate. The powerless ascension thing made me very angry indeed here. Where they got Oma from? Oh deary me, at the time I was furious. Now I think I understand a little.

I am re-writing the Ascension Meta From Hell in parts for redial_the_gate over on LJ (where I am quarryquest too) and as I have watched Seasons 8/9/10 now I will be dealing with them in more detail. Chunk one will come out at the end of September when they rewatch Meridian - but you might like to peruse the short version my SG1 Meta at my journal - dig about until you find it, its lower down the page - and tell me what you think.
