I am in MASSIVE NEED of Sherlock Holmes fic, but I haven't been paying attention to the fandom for a while and now all I can find is Sherlock BBC. Do not want! Does anyone have recs for period Holmes fic, either bookcanon or Holmes 09?

Watched Granada!Holmes "The Dancing Men" and "The Naval Treaty" last night. God how are they so bloody adorable?!

Would you like an original Holmes/Stargate Atlantis fic that works? It's really well done, with a perfect Watson voice. I normally dislike crossovers, but I loved this.

like you i have no interest in the bbc series, tho it seems to be one of fandoms new shinies. but i adore the books, the Brett series and Downey/Law.

srsly. there are other wonderful authors in this fandom (candlebeck leaps immediately to mind) but katie forsythe is in a class by herself.

after making the rec i went back and reread a couple of her shorter things.

I worship her writing. and i adore her take on lestrade.

I am a big fan of w_a_i_d. She writes ACD-verse Sherlock Holmes. You can find her stories in the top post of her journal. She has a very promising WIP going now, but maybe you want to start with the completed ones.

I haven't been reading Holmes lately, but all my bookmarks are here (both reviews and a few I've bookmarked to read but haven't gotten to yet).

I hope there will be another revival of the fandom (and my interest?) when the new movie comes out. I am annoyed by all the Sherlock obsession everywhere.

Here here! I'm in this for the period sexytimes, and the BBC turned me off with race/gender/sexuality/disability fail in the first ep - and I want fandom to write the sort of thing I like, dangnabbit! /bofq
